The Mechanical Engineering Department intends to provide practical industry based technical and professional education to the students. Educational excellence is the central focus of all activities within the Department. Our faculty and staff take great pride in developing a curriculum that provokes students to think deeply, broadly and independently to prepare them to be leaders in engineering and other professions. The dual emphasis on fundamental concepts and design innovation in our curriculum equips our graduates to address and solve the most complex technological and societal challenges. Through their passion and dedication, our Professors and teaching staff apply their expertise towards developing new teaching methods and paradigms that stimulate excitement in both traditional and emerging fields of endeavour, and set the highest expectations for our students. The Department is actively associated in grooming the engineering graduates in Mechanical Engineering by nurturing them with inputs from various basic and specialized subjects including Production, Industrial, Thermal and Design Engineering. A wide selection of projects, seminars and training facilities besides technical visits to industrial enterprises and specialized lectures from industry specialists generates enormous potential and confidence among the students enabling them to independently handle the life-size problems in their engineering careers. The faculty members of the department have organized national and international conferences; this success would not be possible without select, highly motivated and inquisitive students dedicated to achieve excellence in the classroom, the laboratory and through extracurricular activities.
