An initiative taken by Department of Information Technology for nurturing the talent of students and
grooming their minds in a right direction. This workshop was in order to brushing up their skills by
accompanying their theoretical knowledge with a practical one.
The subject of this workshop was Packet Tracer 6.2, which is a Network Simulator Software providing
an experience of real time devices. It is used for practising most of the networking configurations
by creating network topologies. It helps to understand about how to configure the networks and
imitate modern computer networks. All the networking devices are available in packet tracer.
The trainers were Mr. Anup Swami and Mr. Deepak Choudhary. Mr. Anup Swami is a Technical Engineer
(Network) at SriRam Value Services Ltd. and Mr Deepak Chodhary is a network Admin in Pratap
University, Jaipur. Mr Deepak had also worked in HCL. It is proud to mention that they both had been
a part of IT Department, 2015 pass out. The content delivered included basics of networking,
connections, submarine cables, IP addressing both classful and classless, subnetting, ports and port
numbers, networking devices like hubs, switches, etc., Routers along with its states, protocols adb
configurations, VLAN, firewall with its working, types, NATting and PATting, DHCP and lotmore.
