IT HACKATHON 3.0

Department of Information Technology will be hosting the event, IT Hackathon 3.0 on 26th September 2019 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m (6 hours), an event where education meets innovation. Hacking is an unorthodox way to solve problems. IT hackathon 2019 was an event that gathers Programmers with different skill sets to “hack”, or work collaboratively, on a software project i.e. the given topic on 26th September 2019 from 9am to 3pm. Students participated in the team of 2& 3 members Total 80 teams participated in the event. Both the members worked collaboratively and many creative outputs were given. The judgement round started at 2pm. Every team showed their talent and the solution to the problem in a creative way. Programming is the 21st century's new lifestyle, new literacy. Hackathon is a practical hands-on event to solve problems through programming which involves creativity and critical thinking. It is an event that will gather all the zealous programmers together to make workable applications. For the Second time, IT Hackathon was organized at JECRC campus by IT department on 12th September 2018, which was the beginning of the competitive coding arena in the college. IT Hackathon 2.0 witnessed enthusiastic participation of many students working on innovative ideas and projects. The themes covered were food, fitness and e-commerce applications and library management system as examples. The judgement criteria included two rounds of judgement which considered parameters like proper idea representation, UI/UX design and completion of the project. The winners were awarded and certificates were provided to all. The event was an exceptional hit. IT Hackathon 1.0 & IT Hackathon 2.0 served as a platform which inspired our teams to compete at a higher level and take their innovation forward. We are looking forward to continue the coding legacy this year as well with double enthusiasm and double fun.


ENGINEER’S DAY CELEBRATION

Engineers operate at the interface between science and society. To acknowledge the great works done by our hard working engineers each year 15th September is celebrated as Engineers' Day marking the birth day of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya, recognizing his contributions in the field of hydel energy in India. The professors of the IT Department of JECRC College gathered in the Seminar Hall and discussed the importance and works of the engineers in today's era. The Next Event which engrossed everyone was the Skit performed by the students of IT department. The skit represented the life of an engineer, from student’s masti moments, to the horrifying examination hall tension, to the YOLO parties, and the Tenseness Result day. The skit was cheered by the whole crowd. This skit was directed by Mr. Shubham Ameta of 3rd Year. After the skit, scintillating Dance performances were presented that bound everybody to tap their feet and sway on the beats. Followed by the mellifluous songs presented by various students and faculty members which everybody cheerfully enjoyed and applauded at the end of the performances. Next performance was the stand-up comedy which included mimicry the famous dialogues of the people like Nana Patekar and Sunny Deol. In the end Prof K.K. Sir, embraced us with his warm words and guided us to be on a path which brings success in our life, he then ended his speech with a cranky joke, which resulted into undivided laughter. The event was organized successfully and left its imprints like flowing water embarks its impression on a pebbled shore. It gave an opportunity to everyone to remember and cherish the works of Sir Visvesvarayya. The event captivated the audience and left everyone mesmerized.


Accenture Women’s Day Celebration

With the motive of empowering women and bringing in the concept of inclusion and diversity, Accenture chose JECRC Foundation as one of the twelve colleges all over India to host their event for celebrating women‘s day. On March 24, 2017, Accenture arrived at JECRC to hold a special program only for girls of the college to promote and express their companies‘ liberal thoughts for empowering women. The event took off with multiple exciting and fun competitions like writing down their thoughts on the wall, clicking selfies with the #leadinginthenew tag, Whatsapp quiz and others such as gif photo booth and freebies were distributed to the winners. Later the event proceeded with a very intriguing skit performed by Steps Drama group based on the concept of life and work environment for girls at the company. Also, the actors in interacted live with the audience and addressed their queries on the same. Primarily, the ideas of gender diversity and inclusion were put forward which helped in broadening the thinking horizons of the audience and break the clichéd biases and notions that are general in professional work environment. Also, the audience had the great opportunity to interact and solve their dilemmas with none other than Mr. Kanwar Mohan Singh, MD, Accenture. He told about his journey at Accenture and cleared the doubts of the student and talked about the growth and development of women and overall workforce of the company. To conclude the event, the best part was saved for the end. A prize distribution ceremony was held and all the winners of the contest were awarded. Also, there were special awards for female teacher and students who have contributed a lot for the betterment of the society and women. Overall, the event was very reviving yet fun in its own way and more such programs are expected in the future.


ENGINEER’S DAY (2017-18 )

"Engineering is not merely knowing and being knowledgeable; engineering is not merely analysis; engineering is not merely the possession of the capacity to get elegant solutions to non-existent " This quote clearly signifies the hard work done by all the engineers and to identify these works, each year 15th September is celebrated as "Engineer's Day" to commemorate the birthday of the legendary engineer, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. On this occasion, all the departments of JECRC foundation organized various technical and non-technical events. IT department conducted a technical quiz as well as a LAN gaming event for it's students. Both the competitions witnessed a decent number of participation and were highly appreciated by all the staff members and students. The winners were - Abhijeet Raj, Gagan Baheti, Anmol Saxsena, Arpit Kulshreshta, Tanmay Sharma 2018-19


Teacher's Day Celebration (2018-19)

We celebrate Teachers' day every year throughout the country on 5th September. Students express their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers on this day. This day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan - second President of India. The great academic philosopher, and one of the most well-known diplomats, scholar, president of India and above all a teacher. As a tribute to this great teacher, his birthday has been observed as teachers' day. With energetic dynamism, a celebration was conducted in IT department by the students of 3rd year on 5th September, 2018. It was an auspicious day for students, to celebrate with all the faculties of the department. Teachers' day celebration began as the students greeted all the teachers, as a token of respect.


ENGINEER’S DAY (2018-19 )

On the auspicious occasion of Engineer's Day (15th Sept., 2018) a seminar on "Impact of Digital Marketing in IT Industry" was conducted for both II year and III year students under the supervision of department of Information Technology, JECRC, Jaipur with the following objectives: • Spreading Awareness about Digital Marketing Concepts. • Career Prospects in Digital Marketing. • Digital Marketing Opportunities in Market. • Important Tools Professionals Use in Digital Marketing. The invited speaker for the seminar was Mr. Ashish Kumar Mishra who is a Digital Marketing Expert and presently working as Head-Business Relations, Genx Soft Technologies Pvt Ltd_ He discussed the Digital Marketing Concepts, Career Opportunities and Some Important Tools used by Digital Marketing Professionals. The session started with the good wishes of Engineer's Day followed by floral welcome of the invited guest Mr. Ashish Kumar Mishra by Mr. Naveen Kumar Kedia, Assistant Professor, IT


Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

GANDHI JAYANTI This day is considered special as we celebrate this day in the honor of the birthday of the Father of the nation, Mo-handas Karamchand Gandhi, popularly known as Mahat-ma Gandhi or Bapuji.He is a symbol of peace and truth. Gandhiji was a pioneer of truth and non-violence. He played a very significant role in achieving independence for India from British rule. Mahatma Gandhi quoted, 'Sanitation is more important than Independence; 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or 'Clean In-dia Mission' is a campaign that aims at cleaning up roads, infrastructures, streets, rural areas, smaller towns and cit-ies of the country that was organized by Government


IT HACKATHON 2.0

Hacking is an unorthodox way to solve problems, however, it is most often perceived negatively in the public. A hackathon is an event that gathers programmers with different skill sets to “hack”, or work collaboratively, on a software project.
IT Hackathon provides a platform for students to unleash their creativity and collaboration skills, two vital skills for future learning and career development, through coming up with ideas and building the product collaboratively.
Programming is the new literacy. Every industry, from ?nance to transportation, requires people who know how to program. By equipping students with development skills, more opportunities will open up for them in the future.
Developing culture encourages people to think out of the box. Students challenge themselves to create something new and to take ownership of what they create. These are important but often neglected experiences.

SIP-EXPO 1.0

SIP Expo is the platform where students can showcase their talent. It is the Technical Exhibition which is conducted by I.T Dept. everyyear where all the students who have completed their summer internship can present their ideas. Last year with this dedication, lots of student participated.

IDEATHON 1.0

It is the platform for the demonstration of minor projects for of the last year students. The projects are been observed by the judges. They discuss about the project with the students and guide them regarding their future.

JUST-C
`

Just C was an event based on C programming language which featured cash prizes worth over Rs. 30,000. It consisted of two rounds – a Quiz as well as a Competitive Programming round – which tested their understanding of the C programming language, Computer Science fundamentals as well as the ability to creatively put it all together to write programs which solve problems inspired by real life situations. Five Runner ups were awarded prizes of Rs.2, 000 each and cash consolation prizes were given to the next 20 contestants.

NEW VENTURE

It is the annual Business Plan competition organized by E-Cell JECRC. It was a programming competition which was aimed towards testing interest and skills of students in business plan. A huge number of participation of students from different colleges was recorded. Each year in Renaissance, the event seeks to identify budding entrepreneurs that may have the potential to contribute the buzzing economy in the coming future. The first winner was awarded with Rs. 21000 and 10 consolation prizes of Rs. 500 were given. A Level paper presentation contest where different Scientific and Technical researches ignited with innovative ideas meet under the same shade. The participants gathered their research, proliferated their energies and geared up with full enthusiasm to present their paper in this event. The first winner was given Rs. 2100 and top 10 were awarded consolation prizes of Rs. 500 each.

REVERSE ENGINEERING

It is a unique competition for the students to display and enhance their skills in PC assembling with great precision and speed. Participants had to demonstrate their abilities to follow instructions to put together a CPU using the right components and tools. Two participants per team were allowed to assemble the components of CPU given to them. Teams which took the least amount of time were awarded with great cash prizes. The first, second and third winners were given Rest. 11,000, Rest. 6000 and Rest. 4000 respectively.

SUBITO

In Renaissance 2018, a mini Hackathon type event SUBITO was organized by IT department. It is a technical theme based event for web, mobile app development. Participants prepared the app/webpage in given time and showcased their work in the front of panel of judges.
There were two competitions in this event each having its own wining prize. Front-End Ninja (For Front end only Time: 3hrs)
Full-Stack Ninja (For Front and Back end both time: 6hrs)

TECHPROB

Battle of brains was organized by the IT department. It was a quiz competition with a lot of technical as well as fun questions. The students grabbed the opportunity and showcased their talent by taking part in this quiz. Consisting of three rounds, this competition observed a massive participation from all the departments of our college. The winners were awarded with cash prizes and the event ended up with lots of memories for the participants.
